A Special Newfoundland Kitchen Party Matinee
The Cambridge Newfoundland Club is making history with its first-ever matinee performance, featuring a brand-new professional collaboration between two of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most prolific songwriters, storytellers, and entertainers: Arthur O’Brien and Mike Sixonate.
This special performance also marks the first time Arthur and Mike have toured together professionally, bringing two generations of Newfoundland music and storytelling together on one stage for an afternoon of songs, stories, humour, and plenty of kitchen-party spirit.
Arthur O’Brien, longtime frontman of The Navigators, is renowned for his powerful vocals, fiddle playing, and high-energy performances. Mike Sixonate brings his own distinctive blend of original songwriting, storytelling, and Newfoundland humour, with songs that transport audiences back to the rocky shores and outport communities of home.
Together, they will create an intimate, interactive afternoon that feels less like a formal concert and more like being welcomed into a Newfoundland kitchen party. Audiences can expect original songs, traditional favourites, stories from the road, plenty of laughs, and the spontaneous moments that make a live Newfoundland show unforgettable.
For the Cambridge Newfoundland Club, this is more than another concert—it is the club’s inaugural matinee, and the beginning of what could become a new tradition for its members and the wider Newfoundland community in Ontario.
Two accomplished Newfoundland performers. One brand-new touring partnership. One very special first matinee.
