Arthur O'Brien & Mike Sixonate

TWO NEWFOUNDLAND STORYTELLERS. ONE UNFORGETTABLE SHOW.

Songs. Stories. Laughter. A whole lot of Newfoundland.

Arthur O’Brien and Mike Sixonate bring the music, characters and stories of Newfoundland and Labrador to the stage in a show that is as entertaining as it is authentic.

Blending traditional Newfoundland favourites with original songs, unforgettable stories, humour and plenty of audience interaction, Arthur & Mike create an evening that feels less like a concert and more like a visit home.

Whether you're from Newfoundland, have Newfoundland roots, or have never been there at all, Arthur & Mike will take you there for the evening.

MORE THAN A CONCERT

Arthur & Mike don't simply get on stage and play songs.

They tell stories.

They trade jokes.

They talk about the people and places that shaped their music.

And, more often than not, they get the audience involved.

The result is a live show that can move from a heartfelt Newfoundland ballad to a traditional favourite, from a hilarious story to a room full of people singing together.

No two Arthur & Mike shows are exactly the same.

That's part of what makes it special.

Meet Arthur

Arthur O'Brien is one of Newfoundland and Labrador's most recognizable musical storytellers and a founding member, lead vocalist, guitarist and fiddler with The Navigators.

Over a career spanning decades, Arthur has performed Newfoundland music across Canada, the United States and Europe, bringing the province's songs and stories to audiences around the world.

His songwriting has reached audiences far beyond the traditional Newfoundland music scene, with his work featured in the Broadway musical Come From Away and appearing in The Simpsons.

But Arthur's greatest strength has always been the live show.

Give him a microphone, a guitar and an audience and he has a seemingly endless supply of songs, stories and characters.

Arthur brings the kind of personality to the stage that makes an audience feel like they're sitting around the kitchen table with an old friend.

Meet Mike

Mike Sixonate is a Newfoundland singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, storyteller and recording engineer whose music is rooted in the people, places and stories of home.

Mike has performed more than 900 shows at The Captain’s Pub in Twillingate, where he has entertained visitors from across Canada and around the world. Over the years, those shows have become as much about the stories and laughs between the songs as the music itself.

Mike has also toured throughout Canada and Ireland, bringing his original songs and Newfoundland stories to audiences far from home. His songwriting has even made its way to television, with “Fate of the Terra Nova” featured in Hudson & Rex.

Whether he's playing for visitors in Twillingate or taking his music on the road, Mike loves what a good song and a good story can do—bring people together, make them laugh, and leave them with something to remember.
